In today’s lesson we are going to talk about what people do in their free time. We are also going to look at some everyday expressions used by British people.

2.- Speaking Task
Look at the following questions:
- What do you usually do after work?
- What do you do at the weekend?
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Here is how to answer the questions.
- After work I usually + present simple
- At the weekend I + present simple
- In my free time I enjoy + gerund (e.g. swimming, running, shopping, etc)
Listen to your teacher and repeat.

Ian: So what sort of things do you do in your spare time?
Julia: Well, I love travelling to foreign countries and eating out in different restaurants.
Ian: You’ve got some expensive hobbies!
Julia: I know. What about you?
Ian: Actually, I’m usually so tired I stay at home, put my feet up and watch TV.
Julia: Really? That’s a bit boring!
Ian: Yeah, but I work really hard and when I get home I am exhausted!

Claire: What are you up to this weekend? Anything special?
Peter: Yeah. It’s my sister’s birthday and she’s having a party.
Claire: That sounds good fun. Where are you going?
