In English, when you have two verbs together sometimes the second verb is in the infinitive.
Here are some examples:
- I want to go to the park.
- He decides to walk to work.
- My grandchildren promise to draw a picture for me.
Here are some more verbs that are followed by the infinitive:

To promise: prometer
To agree: acordar
To refuse: negarse
To hope: esperar
Would like: gustaría
To prepare: preparar
To forget: olvidar
To plan: planear
To arrange: organizar
To offer: ofrecer
To learn: aprender
To prefer: preferir
To have to: tener que
Here are some examples:
