John is on the phone, talking to his friend Jack.

John: Hi Jack, I’m at the corner. Where are you?

Jack: Hi John! No, I’m in the park. Didn’t you say we were meeting by the fountain?

John: Fountain? No, we agreed we were meeting near my home, at the corner we always meet.

Jack: Well, sorry if you heard wrong or forgot, but we definitely we were seeing each other in the park. I mean, the bar we were going to is literally twenty meters away from the fountain!

John: Were? Oh, so now you are cancelling plans.

Jack: No, we are still getting in there. Just a bit later. Look, I think it’s best if I go inside, get us a table, and you’ll meet me at the table.

John: Just admit we were supposed to rendezvous at my block’s corner.

Jack: It’s always being right with you. You are never in the wrong. If you could just admit for once in your life that you messed up, we could all carry on with our lives.

John: Oh, no. Not at all. You know what? I’ll be at home. If you want to go to the bar alone, it’s up to you.

Jack: John, I’ll be at the back of the bar. The place looks gorgeous. You are coming in here, we forget this has ever happened and that’s it.

John: I do not know in what world you think you live in, Jack. Goodbye.

 

Spanish:

Juan está hablando por teléfono con su amigo Jacobo.

Juan: Hola Jacobo, estoy en la esquina. ¿Dónde estás tú?

Jacobo: ¡Hola Juan! No, estoy en el parque. ¿No habías dicho que nos encontrábamos en la fuente?

Juan: ¿Fuente? No, habíamos quedado en que nos encontrábamos cerca de mi casa, en la esquina donde siempre nos encontramos.

Jacobo: Bien, perdona si escuchaste mal o te olvidaste, pero definitivamente quedamos en vernos en el parque. O sea, el bar al que íbamos a ir está a veinte metros de la fuente.

Juan: ¿Íbamos? Ah, entonces ahora me cancelas los planes.

Jacobo: No, todavía nos vamos a ver adentro. Simplemente más tarde. Mira, creo que sería mejor si entro, nos consigo una mesa y me encuentras allí.

Juan: Solo debes admitir que se suponía que nos íbamos a juntar en la esquina de mi manzana.

Jacobo: Siempre tienes que tener la razón. Nunca te equivocas. Si pudieras admitir por una vez en tu vida que te equivocaste, podríamos volver a la normalidad.

Juan: No, para nada. ¿Sabes qué? Voy a estar en mi casa. Si tú quieres ir al bar solo, está en ti.

Jacobo: Juan, voy a estar en el bar, al fondo. El lugar tiene buena pinta. Tú vas a venir aquí, y nos olvidamos de que todo esto pasó y ya está.

Juan: No se en qué mundo crees que vives Jacobo. Adiós.
