Aim: How do I say colors of things?
We have covered “red gloves – akai tebukuro” in the previous chapter. Here we will learn more words to describe colors.

Lesson Point:
As you see below, “aka – red” is a noun for red, and by putting “ i - い”, you can make it adjective. There are some exceptions, like midori (green) and murasaki (purple).

Let’s say these sentences in Japanese.
This is a red flower.
That is a white flower.
There are green trees in the park.
There is a black dog under the white car.
Answers:これはあかいはなです (kore wa akai hana desu), あれはしろいはなです(are wa shiroi hana desu), こうえんにみどりのきがあります(kooen ni midori no kiga arimasu), くろいいぬは、しろいくるまのしたにいます(kuroi inu ha shiroi kuruma no shitani imasu)
