Lesson Point:
The letter “日” which means day or the sun, and is pronounced “nichi” when you refer day of the month. However, when used for the day of the week, it is pronounced “bi”.
Sample Sentences:
きょうはなんよう日ですか?(What day of the week is it today?)
Kyoo wa nanyoobi desu ka?
こんしゅうのきんよう日は、なんにちですか?(What date is this Friday?)
Konshuu no kinyoo bi wa nan nichi desu ka?
きのうはなんにちですか?(What date is yesterday?)
Kinoo wa nan nichi desu ka?
あしたはなんよう日ですか?(What day of the week is tomorrow?)

Writing Practice – Kanji:
Let’s write Tuesday and Wednesday using kanjis.
火よう日(かようび)- Tuesday. Please note that “火ka” can be pronounced as “hi” and it means fire. It comes from the image of frame.
水よう日(すいようび)- Wednesday. “水sui” can also be pronounced as “mizu” and it means water.
