Notes:
Here, “に” (ni) and “なかに” (no nakani) are used interchangeably.
ごはん(Gohan) literally means cooked rice, but the word is also used to refer a meal. More examples and use of the word will be introduced in later chapter.
III. Writing Practice: Hiragana (Wa, Wo/O, N)
Lesson Point #2:
1. “を” O”: を is another particle that is not found in English but is essential for speaking and writing Japanese. “を” – pronounced “o” or sometimes “wo” is also a particle, and comes after the object of the sentence. More detailed explanations and examples will be introduced in later lessons when we begin to use more verbs like the one for “to study” presented here in red. Example: にほんごをべんきょうする.
